Based in the heart of Shevington village near Wigan, having moved from our previous home in Appley Bridge, SK Dance Studio leverages four decades of dancing heritage to ensure that each and every one of our pupils reaches their own individual dance potential.
At SK Dance Studio Wigan, everyone is a star. Regardless of ability, we make sure that each and every student gets their chance to shine, whether that’s during dancing classes, in examinations, or on the stage at one of our many shows and performances.
For us, dancing is first and foremost about enjoyment – and once you’re having fun, everything else follows.

At SK Dance Studio Wigan, you can dance for fitness, fun, or to prepare for full time dance training.
Our fully qualified dance teachers provide high quality professional dancing tuition to students of all ages.
Whether you want to build confidence, develop a new skill, or get the dancing foundation you’ll need to earn a place at full-time dance college or other vocational training, SK Dance Studio covers it all.
Children can start ballet and tap dancing with us pretty much from as soon as they can walk thanks to special Mummy & Me, Ballet Babies and Tiny Tappers classes.
These dance classes are designed specifically to engage toddlers, with other dance styles such as modern dance being added to the curriculum as they get older.
Sensible class sizes with focus on nurturing technique
We keep the number of students in each dancing class down to a sensible number, which allows us to ensure that each and every dancer gets the focus and attention they need to fully develop their technique.
This is essential in ballet classes where it’s really important to correct things like posture, accurate placing of footwork and arm lines. This level of nurturing simply can’t been done properly in large classes.
New starters are always welcome at SK Dance Studio Wigan, regardless of previous experience and age. If you want to dance – you can! Our professional and nurturing teachers will give you all the support you need to settle in and start enjoying your dance class right away.
Your first dancing class is free (excluding FitSteps, Street Dance, Acro, adult classes and Ballet Babies) and until you decide that our classes are right for you, there’s no need to buy uniform or dancing shoes. We recommend you wear comfortable clothes that allow full movement (perhaps leggings and a t-shirt), whilst for tap dancing, bring along some hard-soled shoes (not rubber though – they tend to be too sticky!).
SK Dance Studio follows the world recognised ISTD syllabus to deliver high quality, fully accredited tuition in ballet, tap and modern.
