Back in the studio for in-person dance classes from April 16th 2021

IN-PERSON CLASSES IN THE STUDIO RETURN FROM 16TH APRIL 2021

Thank you to all our dancers for being such amazing students through last terms Zoom sessions. The great news is, that we’ll be resuming classes after the Easter break in the studio!!

The restrictions means that we’re only allowed to teach under 18s inside though, so our adult classes will remain on Zoom until week commencing 17th May.

We’ll have social distancing and safety procedures in the studio as before. There’s more details on this below.

BOOK YOUR PLACES FOR MUMMY & ME, ACRO & STREET
Your place is reserved for ballet, modern and tap classes as before, but if you’d like to sign up for the new term of Mummy & Me, Acro and Street Dance classes, please contact us ASAP to reserve your place.

COVID SAFETY PROCEDURES

Drop off & pick up
To keep numbers in the building to a minimum, please drop off and collect your child after class. We understand that parents of younger children will prefer to wait and this is absolutely fine, but only on adult per child please. Social distancing should be observed whilst you wait.

One way in and out
Please enter the waiting room via the usual door (round the back of the hall). Children should enter the studio via the internal door. After class, children will leave via the external studio door, where they should be collected. Please note that this area is not covered, so you may need to bring a brolly in bad weather!

Hand hygiene & masks
Hands must be sanitised using the products provided when you enter the building. Dancers need not wear masks, though parents & guardians using the waiting room should wear a mask at all times.

Kitchen & changing room closed
Kitchen facilities will not be accessible, so please ensure dancers and those waiting bring their own drinks. Dancers should come ready for class as the changing room will not be open.

Studio cleaning
The dance studio will be cleaned after each class when floor, barres and any other equipment used will be wiped down. To give time for cleaning, your class will be shorter than usual (i.e one hour classes will be 50 mins). We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Studio spacing for dancers
Our studio is equipped with free standing barres, which means we can configure them to ensure maximum distance between dancers when working at the barre. For centre work, the studio floor has been marked out into two metre squares and younger dancers will be encouraged to stay within them. Older dancers can use the squares to help maintain a 2m distance as they use more of the floor.

SK Dance Studio classes over Easter 2019

Put your hands together – the 2019 Easter holidays are here! Well, for some pupils at least. This year the Easter school holidays are quite different depending which school you attend, so to avoid any confusion, we’ve noted down below how the Easter break affects classes at SK Dance Studio.

Easter 2019 classes at SK Dance Studio

W/C Mon 8th Apr: All classes as normal
Sat 13th Apr: All classes as normal, but no 2.30pm ballet
W/C Mon 15th Apr: No weekday classes
Sat 20th Apr (Easter Sat): No classes
W/C 22nd Apr: No weekday classes
Sat 27th Apr: All classes as normal
W/C Mon 29th Apr: All classes as normal

SK Dance Studio presents “The Greatest Show” – Rehearsal schedule

We’re super excited to tell you about our upcoming SK Dance Studio whole school dance show – entitled “The Greatest Show”.

All our dancers have been working really hard to prepare a stunning showcase of dazzling dance numbers for your enjoyment. There’ll be something for everyone including high energy tap, beautiful ballet, sassy street dance, toe tapping jazz and modern, gorgeous lyrical and more! Almost all of our class groups will be taking part, from our pre-school “baby” class which always steals the show, through to our amazing adult tap group.

When?

The show will run for two consecutive nights – Friday 13th July and Saturday 14th July 2018.
Curtain goes up at 7pm. Dancers should arrive at the theatre by 6pm.

Preston Playhouse Theatre (Market St West, PR1 2HB)

What about rehearsals?

We’ve been rehearsing in class and will continue to do so right up until the show. We really appreciate your support in ensuring children attend all classes. This minimises disruption to learning as teachers work on choreography, patterns and placement.
There will also be rehearsals at the theatre in Preston throughout the week before the show. It’s compulsory that all pupils attend theatre rehearsals in line with the schedule shown below.
